Welcome to Transport4schools

We have set up the 'School Bus Project' in response to the high level of interest from schools and parents. Eighteen independent schools have now joined this project, most of them concentrated around the Hampstead and Belsize Park area, meaning 5,000 children could travel on these buses every day.

Introducing a coordinated bus scheme to the Boroughs of London is a good solution for all of us: parents, schools and residents. The environment will benefit enormously, reducing not only traffic congestion on the roads but also air pollution.

Councils and schools have been encouraging children to walk,  cycle or use public transport, wherever possible  but to little effect on congestion and air pollution.

Both we at T4S and the schools  are very resolute in pursuing this project as we believe it is the ONLY solution to a nationwide problem.

Now after running the first few school buses successfully in the borough of Camden, we are extending 'the school bus project' to other boroughs. Demand will dictate both the schools served and the pick up points. Parents, children, and schools have been happy with our service, and obviously we are too.

We offer a unique service with chaperones on all our buses, for the primary school routes, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children who use our service. They will accompany each passenger on and off the buses for, both, the morning and afternoon journeys. There are children on our buses as young as 3 yrs old.

We have established a system with most of the schools, whereby they provide an usher for the children between the bus and the school.

We feel certain that the journey with other children from different schools will create a great social opportunity for children and encourage their independence.

We welcome parents' suggestions for extending our routes further.   If there are other destinations that you feel would be suitable please send us an e-mail letting us know. We are happy to plan new bus routes if there is enough demand in your area, or to include your area in an already existing route.
